- This is Oar-Powered drift boat style fishing. Born on Western rivers, dory-style drift boat fishing evolved to meet the challenges of flyfishing mountain rivers -full of changing bottoms and flow rates. Sometimes its about slowing down, setting up casts on structure, sometimes its about getting over swift, rocky shoals...basically, we got our hands full and can not help you fish.
- Sorry, not sorry -We work best with clients that are decent fly casters. Anglers that have yard casting dinging pie plates at 40 feet, some saltwater bow time, and maybe now considering a Western river trip... -You need to take a trip with us! Before booking that Green or Yellowstone guided boat trip and have a 26 year old guide screaming at you because your back casts are grazing his head, come out with us for a relaxed vibe and the room to get better. The Upper Suwannee has the ideal conditions to work out the kinks, with a slower flow it is easy to control boat position and keep your fly off my visor -...while you focus on shot placement.

We run a pretty uncommon boat here at Suwanne Fly, but one tailor-made for shallow rivers full of rocks and submerged deadfall trees. The Hog Island SW17 is a roto-molded High-density Polyethylene hull, a very durable product and the same material as most commercial kayaks and Yeti coolers.
Wide and stable, with comfortable seating and plenty of cooler space and dry storage. The Hog Island has 40hp Yamaha Jetdrive outboard.
Sorry 'bout the photo, the flip seat is forward facing for guest seating while underway by outboard motor. Sure, put your feet up on the cooler!
